In the world of the Indigo Court Series, primal, elemental magic plays a very big role. Wind, water, earth, fire—all elements that the magic-born work with. Myst, queen of the Vampiric Fae, has the ability to work with ice and mist. And Cicely, her enemy, is bonded together with a wind spirit—an Elemental named Ulean, since Cicely was barely six years old.
Today’s Night Myst contest is about elemental magic. If you were to bond with an Elemental, and could work one type of magic, which would you choose?
Would you prefer to conjure fire? Remember, it can backfire in horrendous ways, as Rhiannon, Cicely’s cousin, has found out.
Or water? Would you like to glide through the water like a dolphin, sleek and able to stay below the waves for far longer than most humans?
What about wind—tornadoes are terrifying, but a gentle breeze can bring you secrets. Or earth?
And then there’s earth magic, which can quake the ground, enchant plants, or cover your tracks?

I'm an Aquarius, the sign is most often represented by the water bearer (or woman pouring water from a jug), however - Aquarius is an air sign. Still, I find myself most often inspired when near water, so I would have to choose water magic.

Here comes the Queen of the Earth...
I prefer elemental earth magic. The raw earth in all its vitality and vivacity holds an extreme form of appeal to me. I would love to be in control and tame the otherwise feline tract of the vast world. I can just snap my fingers like that and grow trees,flowers,fruits according to my own will and the earth's needs! Wow,that certainly sounds interesting(not to mention powerful),especially in a time when there is rampant deforestation and exploitation of the natural beauty of the earth. I love nature and the emerald aura the earth exhumes and I think I will be perfect as earth's caretaker. So yes,its definitely Earth magic replete with earth's intrinsic charm for me!

Fire is and always has been my element. I love watching it feeling it caress me and knowing that if I don't treat it right, it will burn me. Candles, hearths and bonfires all call to me, from the tame to the wild, I choose fire.
I am stuck between Earth magic and fire. Both would be intense, but very soothing also.
I love the changes in the earth, plants, so maybe I lean towards earth magic ;)

My choice is water because it can be calm and peaceful, but it can also be harsh and condemming. Water's double nature makes it powerful and interesting. I love the water but I also know that it can be a powerful force that is to be respected.

I would like to be bond with the wind elemental. It is quiet and reserved but can turn to a tornado or even be the power behind a hurricane when needed.
As foolish as it might be, I will always choose fire. It's wild, destructive, and if someone pissed me off, I would send a fireball at them!
I think fire is beautiful but always to be treated with caution.

I would work with earth magic. I already feel attuned to the earth now, and if I could work with the earth to occasionally harness some of the powers she'd grant, it'd be amazing.

I think I'd probably choose Earth Magic...unless it gave me the ability to hear what animals have to say. I'm pretty happy to not hear what my dog calls me some of the time.
But Fire energy would be pretty awesome too.. I'd love the ability to control the temperature around my body would be awesome.

Well I personally find Cicely's involvement with the element of Air to be appealing. I myself would love to have that very same element at my finger tips. Air is harmony, and Balance. Air is light, but fierce. If it involves flight and almost near weightlessness, its my kind of thing. In my studies I find Gods and Goddesses of all beliefs who are attuned with air to be mesmerizing. With that study comes the obtaining of feathers, which are legal, owning some feathers are actually illegal. Regardless that the Birds of the seen world are wonderful creatures, and I wouldnt mind having some involvemt with wind patterens, and anywhere from a good puff of air. Now Tornaodoes are dangerous, and should be taken as a threat, but they have always drawn me, infact the movie Twister is very on my list of top movies. I thought Storm Tracking was a profession I would of liked. I would hands down choose water, I am a Pisces after all, and my moods often ebb and flow like the tides. I have always connected with the water element, when I was young I would spend as much time swimming in the summer as possible, I was a fish! lol There is something so calming about laying on a sun-drenched dock on a warm summer afternoon and letting your fingers swirl about in the cool water below you. Or laying in bed listening to the rain fall on your roof. I would to one day live on a lake, just so I could spend as much time as possible down be the water.

I'd have to choose earth. It seems like it would be the most beneficial for health and my lifestyle. Also, earth is everywhere so it seems like there would always be energy to draw upon. While the same could be said for air, fire and water are a touch harder to come by - they aren't just sitting ready for use at your feet all the time like earth.

I think I would want to work water magic. I'm a Pisces and when I reflect on this question I almost always ( about 90% of the time) choose water :) Next would be air. Though if I could control both.... now that would be pure awesomesauce!

always have been Water, the eternal flow and rhythm it has in life. Symbol of life, motherhood, cleansing and purifying. As much as I love everything in nature and all the elements for what they bring, I feel at home with water.
My choice would be earth magic...it would be such an incredible power to have...to be responsible for providing food for the inhabitants of the planet would be fantastic!

Hmm. I would want to control the wind. I was always trying to fight the wind when I was younger but in my dreams I fly with it. I wouldn't want to be fire because I am too temperamental. I wouldn't want to be earth because I like the sky. And as much as I am drawn to the ocean, it would not be mine to control.
