Five Facts About the Indigo Court Series: #5 Vampiric Fae

Indigo Court Series: Book 3
July 12, 2012
To celebrate NIGHT SEEKER'S upcoming release, I've decided, over the course of five days, I’m going to give you five facts about the Indigo Court Series you might not know. J Happy reading!

And remember--I have a contest going on for the release right now!

Vampiric Fae
When I first conceived of the Vampiric Fae, it was through the image I mentioned in the Origin of the Indigo Court—the ruthless queen. She was definitely Fae, but she was more than that. The more I studied the image in my mind, the more I realized she also devoured—energy, blood, flesh. I flashed back to some of the violent and ruthless Faeries from legend like Jenny Greenteeth and the Kelpie…And then it struck me, what would happen if you turn one of the Fae? Well, not the same thing as within my Otherworld Series, that’s for sure—different worlds. But what if the blending of Vampire and Fae made for a creature far more dangerous than either? And so, with that, the Vampiric Fae were born.

One of the things that stand out to me about the vampiric fae in the Indigo Court series is how brutal and un-human that are. These are truly creatures of the DARK...not humans transformed into vampires, holding onto the shredds of their angst filled humanity, but a completely different type of being. One that does not know our rules and if they did would never choose to live by them. These are beings so alien to humans...they are the beautiful monsters that could consume the entire human world. I have not seen that extreme a creature show up so fully developed in any story before.

Fantastic world, as scary as it is...I cannot wait to find out who wins.
