Meet You At the Coffee Shop

So, you’ve all heard me go on (and on and on and on) about my raging caffeine addiction and my love of lattes. Every morning I have a quad shot iced almond milk latte (with various sugar free flavors), and  every afternoon I have either a double or triple shot one.

I’ve blogged about my characters and their flavors, I tweet about it.

Readers often ask me if my characters and their caffeine addictions are a reflection of my own love of caffeine. (*koffs* Yes).

Hell, when I was writing the Chintz ‘n China series (and no, there will be No More Books in that series—I’m proud of them, really happy you loved them, but the series is LONG over and done), I was trying to cut down on my coffee. The more I tried to cut down, the more it seemed that Emerald’s trips to Starbucks spiraled proportionately higher, until in One Hex of a Wedding, it seemed like she was there every other chapter. I had NO CLUE I had done this till my husband pointed it out.

(Note: RE: the ‘trying to cut down’—didn’t work) (Really didn’t) (Panicked scream of: IT’S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN).

Anyway, so I thought I’d finally show you a picture of my home ‘coffee shop’…Um, you’ll notice yes, there IS an espresso machine but no actual coffee maker. That’s because I don’t drink regular coffee and Sam pretty much has switched to cappuccinos (and he has his own raging caffeine addiction though it doesn’t quite rival mine). So here, without further ado, the home court for my addiction:

So, what are your drinks of choice?

I'm a regular coffee girl - I prefer Heritage Brand which I discovered back in 1999 in Juneau, Alaska - Organic Sumatra - I sweeten it up with either a bit of Caramel Macchiato or Belgian White Chocolate Macadamia Nut creamer... I also drink more water than most of the peers I know...

Regular coffee unless it's over 80. Then it realy needs to be an iced coffee :-)

I do flavors in my hot chocolate though. Candy Cane and Creme de Menthe are my favorites. And most flavors from Davids Tea stores.

Sorry to say that due to health issues my caffiene addiction is long gone. I was never a coffee drinker of any kind though, never learned to like the stuff. I got my caffene from Pepsi. At one time in my life drinking almost a six pack a day, then I switched to diet Coke, till I read what that did to you. I went back to limited Pepsi, but alas, when my kidneys started having problems I had to say bye bye to caffene and now drink primarily water. Water is my friend and lifes blood.

COFFEE!!!! I'm a major coffee drinker. When I'm out and about I get mochas. At home, I just mix various coffees with different flavored creamers. I like to mix things up regularly.

Coffee in the morning, tea in the afternoon. *Strong* tea, Earl Grey or black. No sweeteners, no milk, no lemon. I cannot abide flavored coffee as it always tastes of sugar.

Coffee is the fave, dark Italian Roast from Starbucks, Lattes-mocha and cappuchinos. Also like frappachinos. Hot tea in the afternoon, occasional iced tea.

I HAVE to have Coca Cola, in cans, thankyouverymuch. Coffee is way too much caffeine (I'll save that stuff for when I'm older) and I only need a little, administered regularly, to keep me sharp enough to write and function in the real world...more-or-less.

I don't drink coffee but I love, love, The Espresso House Vanilla Soy milk Chai Latte. The good thing is that they sell the powder base, so I can make it at home. ( 1 cup= 5 dollar. 500 g powder in a jar= 10 dollar)

I just twitted to you last week asking for a latte recipe book! I was happy to stumble upon this blog! :)

I also adore coffee way, way, way to much. I am finding I may need to cut back on the caffeine though, and I need to start monitoring my sugars....and I like my coffee blonde and sweet (or chocolate and sweet!)!

It's very encouraging that you have maintained a healthy low carb, low sugar life style and kept up the lattes! Inspiration to me.....I don't want my love of lattes to negatively effect my health!
